About
welcome
I’m Lou Ann Wilroy, a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) and founder of Heal and Restore Trauma Recovery. I am glad you are here and look forward to getting to know you.
My path to this work is rooted in lived experience. I know firsthand what it means to live with the effects of trauma—and what it takes to heal. After years of carrying the weight of unresolved pain while juggling the demands of a corporate career, raising a family, and trying to stay afloat as a human, I found myself overwhelmed, disconnected, and suffering from stress-related illness. It wasn’t until I began my own deeper healing journey through trauma-sensitive yoga, body-based therapies, and profound self discovery that I began to reclaim my life from the inside out.
Heal and Restore was born from this personal transformation.
I continue my own work today as I walk beside you with acceptance, curiosity, and empathy. Through counseling, yoga, and retreats, I offer a safe and supportive space for others to reconnect with themselves—to feel more at home in their bodies, more present in their lives, and more empowered in their healing. I work holistically, drawing from somatic practices, expressive arts, nature, and trauma-informed therapy to gently support each client’s unique journey.
In addition to my clinical work, I help organizations integrate trauma-informed principles into their cultures. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with compassion, respect, and understanding in any environment, without fear of being triggered or retraumatized.
